Environment Development Society (EDS) is a non-profit and Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) established in 1995 in Birendranagr, Surkhet. EDS Registered under Non-Government Registration Act 2034 of Nepal and has affiliation with the Social Welfare Council (SWC) of the Government of Nepal. EDS aims at enhancing well-being of impact groups by managing resources, building capacity, promoting social justice and developing multi stakeholder partnership. EDS was established with the vision to create a healthy, beautiful, and self-reliant and gender-equality based society. EDS has nearly three decades of experiences and strong partnership with all of the government from local to national and with several development agencies including NGOs/INGOs. EDS has been working in several fronts of development Sanitation, disaster preparedness and response, agriculture, education, income generation, irrigation, drinking water, safe migration, environment, child marriage, good governance and aligned itself towards supporting the Sustainable Development goals (SDGs). EDS always includes Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) and capacity building approaches in its every sector of development. The strategy of economic and social empowerment that EDS has helped marginalized communities of the Karnali province to upgrade their quality of life. EDS is one of the eldest organizations working in this region. Therefore, EDS is in a strong position to accomplish the projects and have a good record of accomplishment with its partner and donor.
